Polygraph Examinations
Present-day polygraph instruments simultaneously monitor, record and analyze respiratory patterns, sweat gland activity, cardiovascular function and body movement so that the examiner can determine if the subject has any physiological responses associated with dishonesty. The data is used by the examiner to form an expert opinion as to the probability of the examinee’s truthfulness or deception concerning the relevant questions asked during the polygraph examination.
Polygraph examination results can be used to aid decisions about case engagement, such as whether to attest innocence, facilitate dismissals, pursue settlements, or seek objective plea negotiations, and formulate trial strategies. Polygraph admissibility in court varies by jurisdiction, however, polygraph results are generally allowed through stipulation in the State of Missouri. Inquiry Solutions, LLC polygraph examiners are licensed and maintain memberships in professional associations like the American Polygraph Association, the American Association of Police Polygraphists and the Missouri Polygraph Association. |
